+ included in Plus and Gold

As a Plus or Gold member, the Brainstorming Session is your first live interaction with your dedicated lawyer-advisor. It is an excellent opportunity to take advantage of your lawyer-advisor's vast knowledge and experience and ask any questions you may have.

For example, you could use your Brainstorming Session to work with your lawyer-advisor to develop an outline for your personal statement or edit your personal statement to convey interest in a particular school. Alternatively, you could use this time to revise your Cover Letter with your lawyer-advisor to better demonstrate to a potential employer that you understand their practice areas, client industries, and culture in order to improve your odds of being selected for an interview.

Your personal statement is your best opportunity to persuade the Admissions Committee. Our Personal Statement Review will help you stand out from the crowd and ensure your greatest strengths shine.

The admissions committee will use your personal statement to help distinguish you from the hundreds of other applicants with similar GPAs and LSAT scores. That is why a strong personal statement can mean the difference between acceptance, and a letter of regret. Your lawyer-advisor will diligently review your personal statement and provide detailed feedback in a variety of areas including grammar and sentence structure, essay structure and idea organization, overall persuasiveness, articulation of personal strengths and experiences, and compliance with school-specific topics and word count limits.

The Application Form / OLSAS Sketch Review will improve your odds of acceptance by helping you persuasively highlight your accomplishments and non-academic activities, and demonstrate to the admissions committee that you have the experience, skills and values they are looking for.

Most law schools require you to submit a list of your activities as part of your application. For Ontario law schools, this list is called the OLSAS Sketch (or “autobiographical sketch”), while outside Ontario this list simply forms part of the general application form. Regardless of where you apply, the Application Form/OLSAS Sketch is a key part of your law school application. It allows you to highlight your extra-curricular, volunteer and employment activities, as well your academic achievements, honours, research, or publications.

A compelling letter of reference can be a key part of your application. We can help you make sure you’ve got the right person in your corner.

Both schools and employers will rely on your letters of reference for an impartial assessment of your personal qualities, skills, and experience. A strong letter of reference can come from a professor or former employer who knows you well, and should be from someone who is willing to provide a reference which goes above and beyond the norm.

Admissions committees and recruiters have reviewed hundreds of reference letters and can easily distinguish between a genuine endorsement and a stock, impersonal letter. Selecting the right referee is therefore crucial, particularly in the case of law school applications which require your referee to submit their letter directly to the institution, without giving you a chance to review it first. Your lawyer-advisor will help you decide who to ask for a reference, how to ask, when to do so, and how to follow up to ensure your letter is submitted on time.
